Six Beliefs That Set the Course of Your Life

1. If you don’t believe the impossible can happen, then you are right.

2. When you feel like you are less than others, then you are right.

3. When you believe what you have and how you were raised keeps you from having everything you ever dreamed of, you are right.

4. When you believe your mistakes can’t be undone, you are right.

5. When you feel this is the best it is going to get, you are right.

6. When you think someone will never change or rise above their brokenness, you are WRONG!

The Way I See It:

Our life is just a mirror to our thoughts and beliefs, that is the rule and that how it goes. If you are unhappy and unsatisfied with your life, if you wonder why this is happening to me? I don’t deserve this or what it is left for me to do? Or how this can change? or I want to change this… The only solution you have it to work on yourself (yes you heard me WORK ON YOURSELF. Change the question and ask what do I need to change in myself so that it can be reflected into my outer life. What kind of limiting beliefs I have that are setting me apart from my desires. Challenge your beliefs, your thoughts and start on changing them one by one and you will see amazing results. One of the great results is actually you will be feeling good and empowered and you will get inspired by watching how little things will start to shift and change for you giving you the fuel to keep on doing that work. It is not easy, it is not for the weak hearts and ill will. We literally face our own demons and challenge them one by one. It takes a lot of effort and guts and remembering a lot of bad situations that shaped us since long time and deciding to eliminate their influence on us today. Recalling all those memories will be painful and we would think they are long gone but it’s not true they are still shaping our reality today, it takes a lot of courage to do so. It is a continuous work on your subconscious to change the set of core beliefs you have about yourself, your life and how things work. Yes It is hard but it is worth it … it is hard but it is liberating.. it is hard but it will set you free… it is hard but you will change your life.

Still I Rise

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Joseph Murphy – The Power of Your Subconscious Mind – How to change our belief System!

What is a “Belief” after all? Belief is a psychological state in which an individual holds a proposition or premise to be true. This means that each of us has different set of beliefs in his mind.  It also means that whatever you believe is TRUE you can change it. So if you believe that “you cannot do something” you also can – if you choose – believe that “you can do it”.

Where do we get our set of beliefs? We are born with unlimited ability and a belief that we can do anything (watch a kid for a day!! See how fast they can learn “stuff” simply because they believe they can) but then come parents, society, religion, norms, traditions etc…and our beliefs start to change, be more and more restricted with a longer and bigger list of “what I cannot do” and “why”. Then all these beliefs get stored like seeds into a place called “our subconscious”.

How to change a Belief?

  • First you have to know that our own list of beliefs is stored in our subconscious.
  • Our subconscious represents 80% of our mind the remaining 20% is our conscious!! Yes all what we are doing is controlled by our subconscious.  This means that whatever we DO is coming, motivated or resulting from a thought, a belief and this voice coming from our subconscious
  • To change a belief we have to change it on a subconscious level (this is why – in my opinion- the law of attraction most of the time is not working because we are only targeting the conscious mind.). We have to feed our subconscious other ideas, words and images. We have to know that our subconscious has no control over what is IN IT. Whatever we will feed it, it will react upon it. So if you feed it differently it will react differently.
  • We can change our subconscious mind through affirmation. YES as simple as that, repetition of affirmation will create wonders in our reality, because our subconscious will act differently.
  • So if you keep telling yourself something like: “I will never get to do this course” CHANGE THIS to: “I am accepted into the course, I am excelling in this study and I can finish this course.”

Check the below video, and see how these people challenged beliefs around them simply because they had other ones in their minds.  Also I think Mohamed Ali got it right long time ago when he said “It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen. (Ali’s official website)

The Way I See It: if you catch yourself saying I cannot do something…say: who said so?? I can do it. I strongly recommend reading Joseph Murphy’s book. It changed the way I see, accept and look to anything that is going in my mind as well as helped me to change many of my own restricted set of beliefs. I cannot tell you how many things I did since then, a year ago I wouldn’t even dream to do it. One of them is this blog!! Go ahead and read Joseph Murphy’s book – The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.

When people CAN walk away from you ..LET Them Walk! T.D. Jakes – Empowering Message

Letting go is the hardest thing to do. Not only because we are letting go someone or something we really want and desire, someone we really love; but mostly because we tend to see it as “I failed” or “I wasn’t enough” or “I should have done this or maybe that” or “what is wrong with me”, “I am not loved” or “I don’t deserve it” OR “The Bitch”, “The Bastard” “I Hate him/her”, “He/she doesn’t deserve me”, “After all what I did?!”. SO we tend to try, to beg, to be super glued, to pray, to cry, to change ourselves maybe! to wait, to compromise, to follow, to seek revenge, to show them other people want us, or whatever that we do to channel this Anger or Pain of loosing this person…and we never stop to ask the question why? no matter how confident we are we never stop asking ourselves “why?”

The Way I See It: It is hard to let go because we are AFRAID, because we do not TRUST ourselves enough and because we don’t have enough FAITH to let go and keep going KNOWING that we will have what we deserve in this life. We need a lot of healing, self love, self forgiveness and trust to let go and move on. I wish all of us to master the art of Goodbyes and letting GO because after all …we will never know maybe it will come back to us or maybe we will have something or someone even better!…… so let us all stop being afraid/tiered/bitter/angry/ of having another love story, another person, another job, another car, another dress, another friend and have faith in ourselves, God and the universe to give us what we believe we deserve. And YES our destiny is NEVER NEVER tied to anyone who has left.

I will leave you with this speech. I have never seen such a powerful, inspiring and uplifting speech about letting Go, such as this one. Bishop T.D. Jakes used the word “CAN” which is very interesting for me …and yes if they CAN walk away ..nothing will let them stay… this is not only a religious speech the message Jakes is delivering here is universal and has no religion to it ….

By T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you.
And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk
Away from you: let them walk.
I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you,
Loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you,
Staying attached to you.
I mean hang up the phone.
When people can walk away from you let them walk.
Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.
The Bible said that, they came out from us that it might
Be made manifest that they were not for us.
For had they been of us, no doubt they
Would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]
People leave you because they are not joined to you.
And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay.
Let them go.
And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad person it just means
That their part in the story is over. And you’ve got
To know when people’s part in your story is over so that you
Don’t keep trying to raise the dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s over. Let me tell you something.
I’ve got the gift of good-bye. It’s the tenth spiritual gift,
I believe in good-bye. It’s not that I’m hateful,
it’s that I’m faithful, and I know whatever God
Means for me to have He’ll give it to me.
And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it.
Stop begging people to stay.
Let them go!!

All That Is Bitter and Sweet: A Memoir – Ashley Judd

Excerpt from Good Reads article:   All That Is Bitter and Sweet: A Memoir by Ashley Judd, Maryanne Vollers. Ashley Judd is an award-winning film and stage actor known for her roles in both box-office hits and art-house gems, and the daughter and sister of country-music royalty. In 2002, drawing on a deep well of empathy forged by a painful childhood, she found her true calling: as a humanitarian and advocate for those suffering in neglected parts of the world.

Asked why she was opting out of a successful career, walking away while she was one of the highest-paid women in Hollywood, Ashley herself could not provide an answer. She simply knew that after her first trip to the notorious brothels, slums, and hospices of southeast Asia, her own life depended on advocating on behalf of the vulnerable. Promising each new sister “I will never forget you,” Ashley began writing extraordinary diaries—on which this memoir is based—expanding her capacity to relate to, and to share with a global audience, stories of survival and resilience  (…read more)

See Ashley on the “The View”

The Way I See It: So Ashley, wasn’t truly fulfilled and decided to take her pain and do something with it, it is amazing how such stories are so inspiring. When you read and know more and more about people journeys, not only about the suffering and pain they went through but about “how” they decided and “when” they decided to change it, to turn it to something else. Something, that gives hope, help and inspiration to other. How they chose to release it all in different shapes and vibes….You can’t do anything but just be inspired. Really… it’s not about suffering it’s all about what you will do with it….? Will you leave it sitting there deep inside you to poison your present and future life? Will you leave it inside you building layers after layers of bitterness, unhappiness, anger, shame, frustration, limitation and regrets? Or you will decide to release it and do something about it? …it’s your call, it’s your memoir that you are writing …hope we can read it someday and be inspired by “how you did it”….
